Glamour: He can casts small amounts of glamour over himself or items. However, as this is a kind of fairy magic it takes a lot of energy out of him to use for long periods of time.
Magic: Basic elemental magic, fire/water/air manipulation. Think Avatar the Last Air Bender.
The Sight: Fairy sight, the ability to see through magic (such as glamours) and recognize someone's true appearance. (***I will try to always ask if a character's true appearance can be seen.***)
Bar tending: He worked close with the many bar tenders at Haven and can figure his way around a bar. Just don't ask him for a Bloody Mary, because he'll automatically ask if that's with or without blood.
Business sense: Running his club Haven has given him a good taste of what it's like to run a business, but he's still not the best at it.

Samir was born in the Winter Kingdom fairy lands and grew up spending time there and in the Summer Kingdom. The only child to elves Ammar and Cloe Kerem, he has never considered himself anything but--dispite having the ability to use glamour. He has always been fawned over by his half elf/fairy cousin Princess Eulalia (173 daughter of the Summer King), 50 years his senior.
When he was a baby he fell into the bath and almost drowned, which caused him to lose his voice The muteness caused Samir to be very shy growing up. The fae children his age would bully him for not only being unable to speak on top of the fact that he was an elf. Eula would play with him sometimes, but she had duties of her own and could not shield him when it came time for schooling. The social isolation lead Samir to seek refuge in books, first at home and then in the royal library when he was about 50 (10 years old in human mental levels). This is how he made two friends--Thomas, the once human librarian (and second husband to the Winter Queen) and a summer fae about 30 years older than him named Porphyrius. The latter would become his tutor to help him study books and one of the few fae outside of his family to learn sign language.

One day while helping Eulalia with a personal matter, Samir met a human man named Cathal. Cathal was instantly smitten by Samir and slowly wooed him over, despite his own fears of loving a short lived human (which were dulled after Cathal started using magic and looking for ways to extend his life). Thanks to Cathal's outgoing nature, Samir's confidence grew in leaps and bounds. They were married and lived happily ever after. End of story, right? No, this wasn't one of Samir's romance novels.

While visiting earth at the turn of the century, Samir noticed that the fairies that lived on earth with no kingdom protect them were being hunted by mortals. They had no safe place for the fae to drop their human-esk disguises. Samir wanted to make a place where they could. With Cathal's encouragement and Eula's support, he was able to create a club in 1916 that he dubbed Haven, located in southern California. It was for fae to hang out and be themselves without the fear of mortal prying eyes. Over the years it would grow to allow all kinds of magical creatures seeking refuge as well and become more of a bar/nightclub over just a meeting place.

Haven was growing and so were their friends' families. Cathal and Samir came to the realization that they too wanted more than just the two of them. They were living part time on earth and part time in the fairy realms. The fairy method of stealing children was unappealing and a more earthy style of adoption would be a lot of hard work, but Eulalia had another idea. She had already produced a son for her winter prince husband Wynn, so she suggested that she should face Cathal's child. It would then have some of Samir's blood too! Both men were excited by the offer! Wynn gave his blessing to them, already viewing the two as members of his family.
When it came time for the baby making, some of Eulalia's many sisters came to her with a cream which was said to induce ovulation in fae. If that was what it did was unknown because it poisoned Cathal. All of the daughters of summer maintained an air of innocence to the fact that the cream was poisonous to humans. No antidote or magic was found that could cure him, so Samir had to stand by and watch his beloved slowly succumb to the poison's effects. After his death, Samir vowed to never step for into the summer realms until the sisters that conspired to poison Cathal were dead.
And so Samir lived on earth. Throughout the 1980's he turned to drugs, mostly opium, to dull the pain of his loss. He had been taught that his line of elves only loved once in their lives and after their partner passed, the other was soon to follow. Talk about self fulfilling prophecy. Eulalia wouldn't allow her cousin to waste away. She worked hard to get Samir off drugs and kept him busy with Haven. He couldn't be sad if he had no free time to think of being sad, right? It worked, Samir started taking care of himself and focusing on the bar.

Recently, Samir thought to expand Haven to the east coast, he left the club in Eulalia's care and his sights on New York--which in the end landed him in CC.
